Using the Virginia Mason Production System (VMPS) as well as organizational development theory and principles, in collaboration with business leaders and the HR Leadership Team, this position consults on, designs and implements organizational development programs and processes. Emphasis on building core capability for current and future talent needs for staff and leaders throughout the medical center.
Lead the design and implementation of organizational development programs that increase the knowledge and skill level of leaders and staff. This position serves as subject matter expert and will coordinate both internal and external resources to provide education and learning opportunities that align with strategic needs of the business.
Keep key stakeholders informed of significant problems that could impact the implementation of programs.
Utilizing the principles of VMPS, coach and consult with staff and leaders to help them competently fulfill their responsibilities.
Network with internal and external organizations as well as professional peers to represent VM and stay abreast of adult education and organizational development trends.
Serve as faculty in the delivery of educational programs.
The position requires demonstrated experience in adult learning theory, program design, process management, project management and change management. The incumbent must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and work effectively with all levels of staff and leadership. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to effectively influence, coach and develop others, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of organizational development programs for the medical center. Must have strong skills in executive presentation and team and group facilitation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Human resources, or Public/Business/Healthcare Administration or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Human resources, or Public/Business/Healthcare Administration preferred.
5+ years of related work experience required.
Certification in training and organizational development processes and tools, e.g., DDI, Achieve Global, MBTI, other social and psychometric assessments, etc. preferred.
