As a key member of our leadership team, you will help to continually develop the results-driven initiatives that define our success and are transforming healthcare. 

 

Virginia Mason is seeking an accomplished Information Security Manager to lead our information security program. Responsibilities include program development, information security standards oversight, information security analysis, audit and support, computer incident response and information security training/awareness to protect patient, provider, employee, and business information as required by the HIPAA privacy and security rules, the HITECH Act, the FTC Red Flag Rule, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards, and other applicable regulations and laws (including applicable state laws).

Our ideal candidate will be a high-energy information security innovator that is a technically proficient, creative, flexible, hands-on self-starter with strong communication, leadership and organizational development skills. Must be able to work with multiple project teams and business stakeholders simultaneously and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment. Develops the engineering, technology and service management capabilities of the information security team, managing and developing existing staff as well as recruiting new high performing team members as required.

 

Essential Duties:

•             Manage and develop the Information Security program, including strategy, policies, process, and metrics.

•             Identify and assess emerging information risks and address/adjust strategy as required.

•             Collect and monitor information security metrics, assessing the health of the program.

•             Identify, prioritize, and implement services and products to enable or improve information security capabilities.

•             Oversee internal and external security risk and vulnerability assessments, recommend/implement approved countermeasures. Partner with stakeholders to communicate recommendations and develop agreed upon action plans.

•             Build and develop an efficient and effective information security team, including people management responsibilities.

•             Manage onsite and offsite vendors in providing products and services related to the information security program, including contract negotiations, budget management, and evaluation of service and support.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems management or a related field with 6-10 years of experience in information security with at least 3 of those years in management. Industry standard security certifications (CISSP, CISM, GIAC) and working knowledge of Information Security regulatory requirements and standards, such as PCI, HIPAA, HITECH, NIST, COBIT, ITIL and ISO are required.
  • Experience designing information security architectures across multiple platforms and applications; knowledge of information security program frameworks and best practices; knowledge in data security laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies; working knowledge of functional relationships between departments within a healthcare or similar environment; knowledge of Joint Commission, HITRUST, NIST, and ISO standards.
  • Must have experience with talent assessment and performance management, strong written and verbal communication skills, and clear analytical and problem solving abilities.
