The hourly salary range for this position starts at $47.16/hour and increases with years of relevant work experience

This position manages the day-to-day operations of one or more diagnostic imaging services. Evaluates quality of images, procedures, and services. Ensures cost effective operations and value to the customer. Assesses new equipment and participates with equipment contracts. Develops plans for projected future needs and maintains targeted financial margins by tracking expenses, maximizing reimbursements, and staffing level.

The following duties are intended to be representative of the work performed by incumbents in this position and is not all-inclusive. Provides leadership and direction for the day-to-day operational management of one or more diagnostic imaging services.
Performs all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment and retention, analyzing staff mix and deploying staff, ensuring competency of staff through development and regular evaluation, and providing disciplinary counseling.
Develops and implements department specific customer service, human resource, and financial goals and objectives consistent with VMMC strategic plan and goals.
Promotes and nurtures teambuilding and career growth to maximize productivity and job satisfaction. Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing customer complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.
Manages, develops and monitors the operating and capital budget; reviews and reports significant variances; works with coders to maximize reimbursement and assure appropriate billing practices; develops and promotes measures to stay within budget.
Manages and facilitates research and development projects with outside vendors and companies; analyzes and participates in decision of major equipment purchases.
Plans and organizes staff and facilities to meet customer needs. Ensures routine maintenance is performed, problems corrected and systems in place to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for patient care/service delivery.
Provides leadership and training on all new technologies for professional staff, residents and physicians; provides continuing education opportunities for staff.

This position requires the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree with registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an R.T. 5 years of Diagnostic Radiology with extensive knowledge in radiology techniques, processes, quality control and radiation safety required; 3 years experience, which includes management, supervision and budgeting, also required. Demonstrated excellent organization, communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.

Other registrations and/or certifications may be required depending on specialty including, but not limited to: Washington State Certification as a Radiology Technologist, ARRT Certification in CT, Washington State Registered Nurse License, CPR Certification, registration with the Nuclear Medicine Certification Technology Board, Washington State Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, registration with RDMS and RVT Certification by the ARDMS.
