Day Shift (8:00am - 5:00pm)
The annual salary range for this role starts at $73,216.00/year and increases with years of relevant work experience.

The Senior Compensation Analyst will participate in the assessment, development, implementation and administration of compensation programs, practices, and policies for Virginia Mason. Analyzes, evaluates and prepares compensation recommendations to maintain a competitive and cost effective position in the labor market in which we operate. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Plan, lead or participate in selected human resources or compensation projects to include compensation philosophy, strategy and program redesign and process and system improvements.
Provide assistance to other compensation staff on issues related to compensation policy and practices. Mentor and train other compensation staff.
Provide compensation consulting services to the HR team, managers and employees on current compensation programs, policies, processes and procedures. Consults and advises HR Business Partners and Employment on compensation policy and guidelines, and compensation data and decisions including salary offers for new hires, promotions and transfers utilizing internal and external data.
Participate in the annual compensation planning process to include budget, structure adjustments, base pay increases, short-term incentives and developing processes and tools, communication and training. Coordinates processing compensation recommendations, including analyzing trends, ensuring overall consistency and providing guidance to managers.
Create and maintain databases, modeling, analysis, communications and reporting for base and incentive programs.
Conduct accurate job analysis and evaluation, assessment and understanding of business needs, applies current pricing methodology to determine appropriate pay range and assigns exemption status in accordance with Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
Develop and/or/revise job descriptions to meet standards in clarity, uniformity, completeness and format.
Conducts, participates in and analyzes compensation salary surveys to ensure our compensation programs are internally equitable and externally competitive. Maintain market pricing tool.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field required.
Certified Compensation Profession (CCP) designation preferred
Minimum of five years progressive professional experience in compensation required. Experience in healthcare preferred.
Solid knowledge of compensation theory, principles, design, practices and state and federal regulations to include: Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Pay Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the American with Disabilities Act.
Excellent analytical, project management, problem resolution and client service skills required
Advanced Excel skills to include complex formulas, tables, charts, lookups, macros and data modeling.
Excellent consultation and interpersonal skills with a high level of tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
Ability to work in a team-focused, collaborative environment.
Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
Extremely detail oriented. Skilled in the design and delivery of compensation materials.
Knowledge of HRIS (Oracle preferred)
Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
