As a key member of our leadership team, you will help to continually develop the results-driven initiatives that define our success and are transforming healthcare.
Compensation Manager designs and develops compensation strategies, plans, programs and practices consistent with Virginia Mason Medical Center (VM) goals. Develops systems, processes, policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Compensation Manager and will partner with HR Leadership Team (HRLT). This is a hands-on role, so the Compensation Manager must also be willing and able to perform more routine compensation tasks including compensation analysis, job evaluations, and other administrative duties.
- Manage the administration of base salary compensation program, including overseeing administration of job evaluation, job descriptions, market pricing, salary structure, base increases, and recognition programs.
- Manage the high-level project planning components relating to compensation program revision, development and/or redesign.
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the Compensation team (3 - 4)
- Completes internal and external equity analysis and makes appropriate recommendations to leadership.
- Prepare annual salary planning budget.
- Strong project planning skills with the ability to develop and deliver within project timelines.
- Solid knowledge of Excel, building compensation models, pivot tables, and graphs.
Manage all market pricing activities to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, while adhering to the organization’s compensation philosophy. Provide analytical expertise, guidance and interpretation of various compensation policies. Manage the high-level project planning components relating to compensation program revision, development and/or redesign.
Key role in the effort to refresh our compensation philosophy and programs to attract and retain top talent while balancing good corporate stewardship and continued economic pressures resulting from Affordable Healthcare Act.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree and 5 years management experience in HR with recent assignment in Compensation
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree and 7 plus years of leadership experience in Compensation in a healthcare environment
CCP and Oracle experience strongly preferred.
