This position provides overall management and supervision to pharmacy services. This includes supervision of staff, coordination of services, new services development, implementation and monitoring.

Provides supervision and overall personnel management for the pharmacy staff (pharmacists, technicians, assistants and interns). Acts as a resource to pharmacy staff for the day-to-day operational management of the pharmaceutical services to ensure proper preparation and distribution of medications in order to ensure that the best possible pharmaceutical care is provided to all patients.
- Develops and implements operational processes, department specific customer service, human resource, and objectives consistent with the Virginia Mason strategic plan.
- Performs all aspects of human resource management, including recruitment and retention, ensuring competency of staff through development and regular evaluation and providing disciplinary counseling
- Provides ongoing assessment and modification of pharmacy operations. This includes identifying, designing, implementing, improving, adjusting and monitoring both existing and new pharmacy programs and services to better serve the pharmaceutical needs.

Participates in the departments and medical centers overall long-term planning and prioritization.
Qualifications
- Pharm D or B.S. in Pharmacy with relevant practice experience.
- One year of Supervisory or lead experience required.
- Three - five years of practical experience as pharmacist preferred

Excellent supervisory and management skills; experience with staff recruitment, performance evaluation and discipline; demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and cooperation.
- Licensure requirements for this position include a Washington State Board of Pharmacists and Preceptor license, and 15 hours of Board of Pharmacy approved continuing education credits per year.

BCPS certification is preferred. Completion of a Pharmacy Residence Program preferred.
