The Director Ambulatory Care Nursing is responsible for planning and managing patient care delivered by nurses and support services in ambulatory procedural settings. This job places strong emphasis on the following outcomes: the measurement of nursing processes and outcomes of care and the aggressive development & dissemination of best practices across ambulatory care settings. Principal accountabilities include:
* Develops, implements, and monitors ambulatory care nursing practice in accordance with regulation and delineated scope of practice; maintains clinic-specific nursing policies & procedures.
* Analyzes nursing models of care; contributes to short- and long-range planning processes within clinics.
* Ensures competency of nursing staff through development and regular evaluation.
* Manages clinic-specific, quality improvement programs utilizing tools and methods of VMPS.
* Represents clinic and VMMC to local community and business groups; acts as a contributing member of the nurse management team.

Required Qualifications: Current WA State RN license; Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, or business administration; extensive clinical and business knowledge of ambulatory nursing care which may include appropriate certifications; excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills; understanding of quality outcomes; strong Human Resources skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Five years combined clinical and supervisory or managerial procedural experience with progressively stronger capacity to exceed desired operational, financial, and quality goals.
