The hourly salary range for this position starts at $17.13/hour and increases with years of relevant work experience.

The Medical Assistant assists providers and other members of the health care team in clinic offices by performing a variety of back office, patient-related tasks and ensuring smooth patient and work flow within the department.
1. Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to: injections (per HCA certification requirements), EKGs, ear lavage and blood draws.
2. Measures patient vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature).
3. Manages rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post-visit duties.
4. Informs provider of schedule changes that impact patient flow.
5. May assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks.
6. Reports test results as directed by the provider.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program required. One-year experience in a health care environment preferred. Must have WA State Department of Health licensure level of MA-C or MA-C Interim, including completion of required Washington State AIDS training. Knowledge of third party payer requirements required. Strong aptitude for detail, ability to work independently, multitasking, and learning new skills in a fast-paced environment is required. Strong organizational, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary. Ability to learn and use various PC programs is required.
Candidate must have their own transportation and be willing to commute to all Virginia Mason satellite locations for variable shift times.
Certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is preferred.
